Mr Buechler, who said he is on his 159th trip around the globe, has been travelling the world for the last 35 years.
The fashion jewellery manufacturer, who arrived here from Dubai, said that he was amazed by the beauty of Mahe, Praslin and La Digue.
Mr Buechler claimed that his journey around the world has enabled him to travel 1090 times with almost all airlines that exist or have existed.
His world tour has enabled him to visit almost all European countries, except for Belarus and Lithuania.
Mr Buechler’s tour of North and South America started in Patagonia in Argentina and ended in Guyana. He made this journey in the local buses, which according to him was a good opportunity to learn more about the local residents.
With regards to the African continent, Mr Buechler noted that he has set foot on only 28 of the 53 countries there.
“The African continent is an interesting and exciting place to visit but it can be a real challenge to organise trips there. Trips on land can get really rough at times,” Mr Buechler said.
Jamaica, Iraq, North Korea, the Marshall, Solomon and Palau Islands in the Pacific are some of the hand full of other places Mr Buechler has not yet visit.
He also described his journey by train from his native village in Switzerland through Russia, Mongolia, China and all the way to Hong Kong, adding that this trip covered around 13,000 km.
‘I also made a recent bus trip from Kabul, Afghanistan over the Hindukush mountains to the great Silk Road cities of Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva in Uzbekistan,’ he added.
Mr Buechler who leaves Seychelles for Switzerland today to celebrate his mother’s 75th birthday said that his next trip will be to Jamaica.
