Athletics-Top Racers win Federation’s Trophy |16 September 2010

They amassed 161 points to finish ahead of runners-up Arsu (104) and third-placed Shooting Star (77).
 
At the meet organised by the Seychelles Athletics Federation, the athletes earned points for their clubs according to their final positions in each event in the penultimate competition on the federation’s calendar.

Mostly young male and female athletes took part in the competition with field track and field events such as 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1,500m, 3,000m, long jump, high jump, shot put, javelin, discus and hammer.

Once again Marie-Helen Rose of the Top Racers club won all the four throwing events she took part in – hammer (24.52m), shot put (10.28m), discus (28.28m) and javelin (27.18m).

Top Racers got two more wins from female sprinter Matty Molta, who dominated the 100m (13.2 seconds) and 200m (27.5 seconds), while Ezra Almaze (400m in 1:02.8) and Diane Nioze (long jump with 4.34m) took a win apiece.
