Did you know?
Survey Section
- The Survey Section has already embarked on a project to systematically survey and register all un-surveyed land parcels on the islands of Praslin and La Digue. The project is called ‘Land Registration Project’ for Praslin and La Digue. It cost nothing at this very moment for a land owner to place his already surveyed parcel on the New Land Register.
- Cadastral or property surveys by law can only be carried out by Licensed Surveyors. This includes the relocation or replacement of displaced or missing boundary beacons.
- It is an offence to temper with or uproot boundary beacons of properties and to temper with major survey markers erected on mountain tops.
- The Survey Section not only carries out cadastral surveys for the Government but is also mandated by law, to carry out checks on all surveys carried out by licensed private surveyors before approval.
