President Wavel Ramkalawan, accompanied by a technical team, on Saturday visited the site of a proposed road improvement project on the west coast of Mahe.
The visit provided the delegation with a first-hand view of the approximately 2km proposed community road project.
Funded through a grant by Abu Dhabi through ongoing infrastructure support to Seychelles, the road is expected to stretch from the Anse à la Mouche junction up to the Baie Lazare police station.
Through the discussions held on site, the delegation also explored the possibility of extending the project up to the Baie Lazare primary school and Church in order to maximise the benefits to the community.
The onsite visit also provided the head of state with the opportunity to be briefed on all the various technical aspects, infrastructural features and possible remedies for challenges raised.
Following the site visit, the delegation met at Anse à la Mouche to further discuss and agree on key decisions for the way forward.
The president has given instructions to all relevant partner agencies present to be committed and ensure the project is executed at the soonest.
