Second loss for Seychelles women’s team

Seychelles’ women’s football selection returned to the country yesterday after conceding two defeats in as many friendly matches during their Dubai tourney.

On Saturday, the team lost their second match on a 0-4 score against the United Arab Emirates women’s national team nicknamed the ‘Women’s White’.

This means the team have conceded eight goals and scored just one in the two friendly matches since they also lost their first encounter 1-4 last Wednesday night.

Natacha Bibi scored Seychelles’ only goal in the 64th minute of the first match to reduce the score to 1-2, giving her team hope of pulling off a draw. But the United Arab Emirates team, who had scored two first half goals in the 33rd and 36th minutes, netted two more in the second period ‒ 78th and 90th minutes ‒ for a 4-1 win.

Coached by former Singapore international player Angeline Chua Ki Yi, the team comprised the following players: Kurchia Ashanta M-D. Poris, Janella Moustache, Florence Christine Marie, Alisha Matatiken, Nelly Rebekha Larue, Rachel Lucianna Cadeau, Samira Jeanne-D'Arc Della Florentine, Mikella Maina Mellisa P.
