Seychelles’ tennis votes for first time at ITF annual general meeting

For the first time in history, representatives of the Seychelles Tennis Association were able to vote during the International Tennis Federation’s annual general meeting.

This became possible after the Seychelles Tennis Association (STA) graduated last year for the first time in more than 50 years from class C membership to class B membership.

Being in class B gives Seychelles the opportunity to vote at the ITF annual general meeting (AGM) and take part in both the Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup (originally called Fed Cup). There are other benefits that ITF will list to STA very soon.

The STA was represented at the recent ITF annual general meeting and conference in Madrid, Spain, by its chairperson Fatime Kanté and executive committee member Peggy Chang-Tave.

The STA would like to take the opportunity to thank the ITF and all who have contributed towards the organisation of this successful event.
