LDS sends New Year message |04 January 2022
The Linyon Demokratik Seselwa (LDS) has extended best wishes to the people of Seychelles for a joyous celebration of the end of the year 2021 and the New Year 2022.
“As we come to the end of an eventful and historic year, we want to express our appreciation to all for standing together in the face of challenges that have come before us. We started 2021 with many worries about the future. If we can celebrate at the end, it is because so many people have worked hard to meet their reponsibilities and to support the common effort to overcome the obstacles. Each one of us who has gone ahead with our job, occupation or commitment has contributed to making the best of a difficult year. We are especially grateful to all those whose devotion have gone over and above the call of duty.
“We celebrate the peace and stability that we have achieved in a time of political transition which came with many uncertainties. The year 2021 has reaffirmed our unity as a nation and has strengthened our solidarity as a people.
“We will start the new year with new challenges on the horizon but we have the hope that with hard work, co-operation and sacrifice, we can succeed in building a better future for our country. We express our support for all those who will take up the crucial tasks of ensuring the health and safety of our people, caring for and educating our young, assuring the welfare of our elderly and those in need of special care. We join hands with those who will be working to strengthen our economy, secure our prosperity, and preserve our natural environment.
“LDS expresses the best wishes to all our people for success in their endeavours and fulfilment of their personal or collective goals. May we have the strength and courage to deal with all the difficulties that will come in our path and may our country shine with achievements that will make us all proud. We join with everyone to continue working to make Seychelles a peaceful and strong nation.”
