National Assembly to welcome two new members today |22 February 2022

Two new members will take their oaths before the National Assembly this afternoon.

In accordance with Article 81 (1) (h) (i) of the Constitution of Seychelles, Flory Larue will be swearing in as a new proportionately elected member for the Linyon Demokratik Seselwa (LDS) party. She replaces Hon. Jany Letourdie.

Paul Ernesta, will also be swearing in as a new proportionately elected member for the United Seychelles (US) party. He replaces Hon. Noline Sophola.

Article 81 prescribes that a member may cease to be a member of the National Assembly and that the seat occupied by that person shall become vacant, and in this case by the political party nominating another person to occupy the seat by informing the Speaker in writing.
