Seychelles loses a great soul   |23 July 2022

“Seychelles is mourning the loss of one of the greatest souls of its music industry; a legend who has left a great legacy behind for the future generations to embrace.”

These were the words of the secretary general of the Seychelles National Institute for Culture, Heritage and the Arts, David Andre, as he expressed his most profound and heartfelt condolences following the passing of renowned musician Peter Jules.

“Peter was an inspiration. Through his love for music he has inspired many to believe in their own talents and to shine. He believed in those he worked with, in their dreams and in their works. He believed in their successes and he has witnessed their successes.”

“Music was in the essence of his soul. It was his passion and with his own gifts, he made the dreams of many artists come true,” Mr Andre added.

“Words cannot assuage the sense of grief that Peter’s close ones are feeling, but I hope that it may provide some comfort to witness the respect, love and admiration in which Peter was held,” he added.

“I wish to add my voice and that of the staff of the culture institute to this beautiful music celebrating Peter’s life. We celebrate his achievements, his thriving moments to see our music industry succeed and his great role in promoting our music.”

“On behalf of the institute’s staff and my own, I would like to express my heartfelt and deepest condolences to Peter’s family, friends, colleagues and artists who have lost a great role model.”
