Seychelles takes another step towards a fully digital airport |05 November 2022
The month of October has been extremely busy as we transition from the yellow paper-based embarkation card to the digital Embarkation Information Form.
Seychellois and residents who leave the country will now have to fill out the embarkation form on the Seychelles Electronic Border System website, or the Seychelles eBorder app.
Making travel easier for regular passengers, we've added a profile saving feature to the app so travellers will only have to enter their personal information once. This information will then be saved for future trips.
Similarly, with the Disembarkation Information Form, (the blue form which went digital in February 2022) this modern technology will eliminate the need for Immigration officers to spend hours on manual data entry, as the information upload to the Immigration system is instant. Secure and simple, the traveller will be ready to depart once they scan their passport, take a selfie and answer the questions set by the government of Seychelles. On exit, they will just present their passport and boarding pass to the Immigration officer as all of their information will already be in the system.
The digital Embarkation Information Form will facilitate the submission of personal information, details of the trip and immigration-based declarations for all Seychellois and residents leaving Seychelles. A traveller will have seven days to complete the form prior to their departure date.
We are happy to be part of yet another milestone for Seychelles. The immigration process, for both the officer and traveller is now much simpler, smoother and efficient. A completely digital-first experience on entry and now on exit.
