  • Vélo Club de l’Ouest junior and cadet cyclists dominate the race

 

Stephen Belle is the grand winner of the 97.2km road race held recently, while his younger teammates from the Vélo Club de l’Ouest dominated the junior and cadet categories of the race.

Belle completed the race sponsored by Classic Design in 2 hours 49 minutes 08 seconds (2h49:08), finishing ahead of junior teammates Jayden Sinon and Jahdel Gabriel who registered the same time.

Bertrand Lesperance of the Northern Cycling Riders (NCR) finished fourth overall, but second in the senior category, also in 2h49:08, similar to fifth-place Ahmad Arissol of the Vélo Club de l’Ouest (VCDL) who was ranked third in the senior category.

Sebastien Florentine, also of the VCDL finished seventh overall and third in the junior category, clocking 3h03:26.

The cadet category was also dominated by cyclists from the VCDL with Trevor Malvina clocking 3h18:44 to finish 11th overall and first in the category. He finished ahead of teammate Lauren Jacques who clocked 3h20:51 to finish 12th overall and second in the group.
