Women cricket running smoothly

Women cricketers are being kept busy in the Shri Hari group women’s T20 Challenge sponsored by Shri Hari group and Hari Builders and played every Saturday afternoon at the Roche Caïman field.

In the first match, Rising Stars played Vijay. Annie Li (13) and Alisha (12) of Rising Stars helped to put up a target of 83/6 in 20 overs. Batswoman Nasvee Hirani (16) of Vijay batted well and led them to victory and was selected as the player-of-the-match.

In the second match between Deevas Queens and Kilogame, Pauldina (21), Chantal (18) and Marie-Anette (17) batted so well and set up a target of 122 runs for the Deevas Queens to chase. Chantal stroke at the beginning of the match, grabbing 3 quick wickets in the first over, collapsing the batting order of Deevas Queens.

This helped the Kilogame team to restrict Deevas Queens to a maximum score of 58 runs and they won the match by a comfortable 64 runs. Chantal Frederic was selected as the player-of-the-match for her all-round performance.

In the third match of the tournament, Vijay played Narayan XI. Winning the toss, Narayan opted to bowl first and restricted Vijay to a maximum score of 83 runs. Geetha Hirani and Kantha Hirani picked 2 wickets each.

While batting, Geetha Hirani (14) and Vasanti Patel (11) helped Narayans to win the match by 5 wickets. Geetha Hirani was named player-of-the-match for her all-round performance.
