The Vélo Club de l’Ouest once again proved that they are still the best team at present, winning the 26.5km Team Time Trial on Sunday, while the young cyclists from the club’s academy followed in the wheels of their seniors to finish as the race runners-up.

In Sunday’s race which started at Roche Caïman, the cyclists had to ride up the Providence Highway, up to the roundabout at the International Airport where they returned via the same route to the starting point, repeating the course twice to cover the 26.5km.

Vélo Club de l’Ouest made up of Jayden Sinon, Stephane Belle, Ahmad Arissol, Jahdel Gabriel, and Sebastien Florentine completed the two laps in 34 minutes and 46.63 seconds (34:46.3) to finish first, ahead of the youngsters from the club’s academy – Lauren Jacques, Ashley Toussaint, Chris Uzice and Jeff Esparon – who were second in 37:52.00.

The Northern Cycling Riders (NCR) made up of Edrick Roucou, Ricky Roaslie, Mario Ernesta and Julian Pool were third overall in 37:57.86.

The next event on the calendar will be a mini-tour of three races, scheduled to take place on Saturday and Sunday.
