Another win for Ahmad Arissol

  • Vélo Club de l’Ouest remain dominant

Maintaining his form since the beginning of the season, Ahmad Arissol has once again added another win to his name, sprinting to victory in the 78km circuit race contested on Sunday, while his team ‒ Vélo Club de l’Ouest ‒ have once again imposed their dominance, emerging as the best club.

Arissol has now won a total of five races – three circuits and two individual time trials.

For Sunday’s race which started at Petit Paris, the cyclist cruised up to the Seychelles International Airport via Cascade, before taking the roundabout to head down the Providence Highway and back to the starting point, repeating the circuit 12 times, covering 78km.

Arissol finished first in 2 hours, 4 minutes 31 seconds (2h04:31), a time shared by second-placed Mario Ernesta of the North Coast Riders (NCR), along with Yohan Monthy of the Option Max Cycling Club (OMCC), and Jahdel Gabriel of the Vélo Club de l’Ouest (VCDL) who were third and fourth respectively.

Dominic Arrisol of One Shot Pain Cycling Club (OSPCC) was the fifth cyclist to cross the finish line in 2h04:32, finishing ahead of Edrick Roucou of the NCR who was sixth overall in 2h04:34.

Seven riders, namely Jayden Sinon, Stephen Belle (VCDL), Leeroy Labiche (OMCC), Julian Pool (NCR), Bertrand Lesperance (OMCC), Lauren Jacques (VCDL Academy), and Ricky Rosalie all clocked 2h06:37 to finish seventh, eighth, ninth, 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th respectively.

Jeff Esparon of the OMCC was the 14th rider to cross the finish line, finishing in 2h06:40, ahead of Lario Harrison (NCR) who was 15th overall.

Trevor Malvina of the VCDL Academy finished 16th overall in 2h18:00, ahead of fellow cadet rider Neil Labonte of the NCR who clocked 2h20:15.

Vélo Club de l’Ouest once again proved that they are still the best team at present, accumulating 6h15:39 to finish on top, ahead of NCR who settled for second place with a cumulative time of 6h15:42, while OMCC finished third in 6h17:45
