The Blood Transfusion Centre of the Seychelles Hospital has received a donation of 25 cartons of Ceres juice, which will be of great benefit to the blood donors.

The donation by the Apex Hotel Supplies is worth R7200.

It was the company’s hotels, restaurants and catering manager, Craig Hainsworth, who handed over the donation to Joanne Michel, chief technologist of the Health Care Agency, during a short ceremony yesterday at the Red Roof building, Seychelles Hospital.

Presenting the donation, Mr Hainsworth said Apex Hotel Supplies believes in giving back to the community it serves, as it is a community-driven company.

“This donation reflects the company's dedication to its corporate social responsibility and its commitment to giving back to communities in which it operates,” he said.

On behalf of the Health Care Agency, Mrs Michel thanked Apex Hotel Supplies for supporting such a vital cause.

“We need people to give blood. Maintaining the blood bank is not an easy task, so this generous donation will help us in this endeavour as we cannot do it alone,” she stated.

“We look forward to such collaboration from the private sector and the community,” added Mrs Michel.

Blood donors are given refreshments after their noble gesture and the packets of juice will be used for such purpose.
