Mrs Gill

Seniors Association’s chairperson reaches out to her peers

The chairperson of the Seniors Association, Germaine Gill, has sent a message to her peers on the occasion of the International Day for Older Persons celebrated on Sunday October 1, 2023.

The message reads:

“To all our valued citizens whether mobile, in sickness or bedridden;

“On behalf of the Seniors Association, I would like to extend our gratitude to the Almighty to allow us to celebrate this day. This year the theme is ‘The Resilience of Older Persons in a Changing World’.

“Yes, today this situation means a lot for us not only to reflect but also to see with the help of every one mainly our family members, policy and decision makers on how to adapt to these situations and support our cause so that we can remain resilient.

“We are forever thankful to individuals, organisations who guide us on this journey to be inclusive but we appreciate to see our services being provided in a more compassionate and sustainable manner.

“To all our bedridden colleagues and those mourning the departure of their loved ones may the Almighty build your strength as you dwell on their memories.

“To us all who is on the move and those still undecided to join the association we hope whatever activities we organise will bring more elements on how we build resilience in this changing world at this time of climate change and technology adaptation.

“Again, have a blessed day with friends and families.”

Germaine Gill (Mrs)

Chairperson of the Seniors Association
