Seychelles’ first ambassador to Cabo Verde accredited

Ambassador Radegonde

Seychelles Paris-based ambassador, Sylvestre Radegonde, has presented his credentials to the Cabo Verdean President, Jorge Carlos de Almeida Fonseca, accrediting him as Seychelles’ first ambassador to Cabo Verde.

As small island developing states, Cabo Verde and Seychelles share many similarities and challenges.

President Fonseca and Ambassador Radegonde agreed that the two island states have a lot to learn from each other and should pursue efforts to broaden and deepen their bilateral relations.

These sentiments were shared by the several government ministers and other senior officials Ambassador Radegonde had discussions with.

President Fonseca keeps warm memories of his State visit to Seychelles in June 2014 and looks forward to President Danny Faure’s return visit to Cabo Verde next year.

Several agreements have been signed between Cabo Verde and Seychelles in general cooperation, tourism, culture, air services, cooperation between the two chambers of commerce, etc. There is need to hasten their implementation.

Ambassador Radegonde also called on the President of the National Assembly of Cabo Verde, the Honorable Jorge Santos, who is keen to establish cooperation with the National Assembly of Seychelles, through study visits and exchange of experience and good parliamentary practices.
