NCC rewards winners of Christmas card competition

The children who took part in a Christmas card competition hosted by the National Council for Children at the School for the Exceptional Child have received their prizes.

The aim of the competition, under the theme ‘Tropical Christmas’, was to promote the talent of all the pupils, showcasing their artistic skills, spread joy, and celebrate the holiday season in a special way with the children.

The competition was divided into two categories namely 8 to 11 years and 12 to 16 years. Dwayne Laporte was the overall winner in the 8 to 11 years category, followed by Hayden Rose and Dwayne Lucas in second and third respectively.

Dylan Florentine was the outstanding one in the 12 to 16 years category, while Redgwick Morel and Shakeel Saminadin came in second and third places respectively.

The event was attended by NCC’s chief executive, Yasmin Umarji, and other staff of NCC and the school. During the ceremony, guests were able to view the various artistic work done by the students throughout the year.

NCC said its priority is to ensure that children are given the opportunity and a platform to share their feelings and thoughts through different activities.
