Official funeral arrangements for late Honourable Bistoquet

The National Assembly of Seychelles has announced that the funeral of the late Honourable Rosie Bistoquet will be held at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral, Victoria, on Saturday, December 30, 2023, commencing at 10am.

As a sitting Member of the National Assembly at the time of her passing away, Honourable Bistoquet will be accorded an Official Funeral, arranged in consultation with her family.

From the announcement of her death on December 22, 2023, to the day of the funeral, the National Flag is being flown at half-mast at the National Assembly. Books of condolences will be open for members of the public to inscribe messages in honour of the former MNA at three locations on Thursday December 28, and Friday, December 29, from 10am to 5pm.  These will be at the National Assembly Ile du Port, the Office of the Mayor of Victoria, State House Avenue, and at the Pointe Larue District Administration Office. The books will also be open at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception at noon.

The body will lie at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception from 8.30am to the commencement of the Funeral Service to allow members of the public to pay their final respect to Honourable Bistoquet. Following the Service, the Official Funeral procession will proceed to the Mont Fleuri Cemetery, where the Hon. Member will be laid to rest. The funeral cortege will be headed by a police escort and will consist of official vehicles including buses for specified groups. All individual vehicle will follow after the official cortege.

Members of the public are advised to adhere to the guidance of available Protocol Officers throughout the ceremony and to request any clarification where necessary.

The National Assembly and the family of the late Member extend an invitation to all, to join together as we honour the life and legacy of Honourable Bistoquet through the Official Funeral.
