President of the Seychelles Football Federation Elvis Chetty is no longer a member of the Confédération Africaine de Football, while 63-year-old South African Dr Patrice Motsepe has been re-elected unopposed as president for a second term in office.

The re-election of Dr Motsepe for another four-year reign, and the exit of Mr Chetty were during the Confédération Africaine de Football (Caf) extraordinary general assembly held in Cairo, Egypt on Wednesday, in the presence of Fédération Internationale de Football Association (Fifa) president Gianni Infantino.

Mr Chetty was elected to the Caf executive committee as an ordinary member in March 2021 – during Caf’s annual general meeting held in Rabat, Morocco – where he won 40 out of 52 votes to gain a seat, representing the southern zone of Africa along with Botswana's Maclean Letshwiti.
