Marcus Mathiot’s late goal sinks Au Cap to hand Bel Ombre the league title

A Marcus Mathiot stunner in the last minute of added time completed a 3-3 comeback for Bel Ombre against Au Cap on Wednesday at Stad Popiler, handing the former the Seychelles Football Federation League One title.

The 2024-2025 season has been a tumultuous campaign for both sides as they both shared periods of immense triumph alongside great demise.

Both modeled the archetype of a hero’s journey, but for one the end was marked with a place atop of the podium and the other tragedy.
