“International Labour Day is a significant occasion to reflect on the persistent efforts and notable achievements in the global advancement of workers' rights. In Seychelles, we take particular pride in our commitment to workers’ rights, which we enshrined in our 1993 Constitution.
“Specifically, Article 35 of our Constitution establishes a strong legal framework that guarantees the right to work and to just and favourable conditions of work. This provision is not merely aspirational but enforceable under our Constitution, highlighting our nation's commitment to protecting these fundamental rights.
