Coach of the Paradise Boys Herold Kowlessur has not given up on qualification yet, and after two matches, he has expressed great pride in his team’s performances, hoping for a better display when Seychelles meet Japan in their last group A match tonight.
Other than a large victory to boost their goal difference, Seychelles will also hope that Belarus beat Guatemala to hopefully get a place in the next round.
Belarus are presently group leaders following two victories in as many matches played, followed by Japan who have so far registered a win and a loss, similar to Guatemala who are third in the group, leaving hosts Seychelles at the bottom following two defeats. The Belarussian side will simply need to survive regulation time with a draw against Guatemala to book their place in the quarterfinals, whilst Guatemala will need all three points and as many goals as possible.
