Lucky Dube tribute show donates to New Hospital Fund

Mongy Bouncy Bar and Entertainment has presented the first installment of a two-part donation of funds collected during the Lucky Dube band musical show in February this year to the New Seychelles Hospital Fund.

Executive producer of Mongy, Graham Moncherry, and son of late Lucky Philip Dube, Thokozani ‘TK’ Dube, handed over the cheque worth R50,000 (Seychelles Rupees) to chairman of the New Hospital Fund Committee, Lyderic Chetty, during a short ceremony held yesterday evening at Maison Marengo, Au Cap. The band has pledged to make a second contribution once the accounts are finalised from the proceeds of their May 3 show which should be roughly the same figure.

Speaking after the ceremony, Mr Moncherry said the decision to contribute towards the fund stemmed from the recognised importance of supporting this independent organisation in its endeavour; an initiative he described as vital for the future of the nation.
