A look at today’s tantalising ties

The Fifa Beach Soccer World Cup 2025 has reached the knockout stage and eight of the 16 teams still remain in the competition and will play in the quarterfinals today.

There are four matches on today’s programme at the Paradise Arena, Roche Caïman.

Belarus v IR Iran

Belarus made their first appearance in the Fifa Beach Soccer World Cup in 2019 when they beat Italy from the penalty spot.

Since then, they have remained among the top teams in the sport. This year, they amassed maximum points (nine) in group A that featured one of the favourites – Japan – alongside two countries who were making their debut – host nation Seychelles and underdogs Guatemala. They will kick off their quarterfinal match at 3pm against Asian Football Confederation Championship winners IR Iran – one of the favourites from group B.

After a slim 5-4 victory against Mauritania in their first match, Iran then beat Paraguay 5-1 before losing 5-7 to Portugal. They took second place behind group winners Portugal.
