New land-based coral aquaculture facility opens on Praslin |10 May 2025

Nature Seychelles has officially opened a new coral aquaculture centre known as the Assisted Recovery of Corals facility located at Amitié on the island of Praslin.

A plaque was unveiled yesterday afternoon during the official opening ceremony of the Assisted Recovery of Corals (ARC) facility. ARC is Africa’s first land-based coral aquaculture facility for climate adaptation and conservation. It is located adjacent to Nature Seychelles’ Centre for Ocean Restoration Awareness and Learning (CORAL).
