Silver medal for Jade Micock
Local boxing sensation Jade Micock will be landing at the Seychelles International Airport tomorrow, wearing a silver medal, following his participation at the recently held African Youth Championship in Guinea Conakry.
Micock, who competed in the 75kg category, had to endure four bouts as there were 43 boxers from nine countries competing in the category.
Accompanied by coach Gerry Legras, Micock lost his first fight 0-5 to Desmond Pappoe of Ghana, before bouncing back in his second bout to win by knock-out over Hamza Khazri of Tunisia.
Unlucky, Micock lost his third bout, this time 1-4, to Mighty Sangoni of South Africa, before winning his fourth and final bout by walking over Mamadou Diallo of Guinea to bring home the silver medal.
