Up Close with Terry Philoé Accouche

‘Our traditions must be preserved not just for our visitors but for our future generations’

I remember before I came to live on Praslin, many people who have had bad experiences here discouraged me from moving to this stunning island. But I knew that I am on my spiritual journey and this move needed to be done. And so I moved here.

There is just something about the island of Praslin that keeps me deeply connected to it. It is not just the pristine beaches and the tranquility. It is the Praslinois people I have met. Their unique ways, smiles and warmth, as well as their kindness have touched my soul profoundly.

Life here flows so gently. And I found the peace I was looking for in abundance on top of Zimbabwe, a mountain which peaks elegantly above the clouds, unveiling the picturesque views of the azure waters of Praslin, and the thick greenery that looks like a soft green blanket over the small surrounding hills.
