Office of the Ombudsman, SHRC review amendment

 

The Office of the Ombudsman and the Seychelles Human Rights Commission have announced they are undertaking a joint review of the Political Parties (Registration and Regulation) (Amendment) Bill, 2025. The Bill proposes to amend the Act to provide an exemption for “any contribution, donation or assistance for the sole purpose of human capacity improvement, capacity development, capacity building, and training of members of a political party…”

In a press release issued yesterday, the Office of the Ombudsman and the Seychelles Human Rights Commission (SHRC) said for the benefit of promoting transparency and understanding among the public, they are sharing the key issues presently under review regarding this Bill.
