Judiciary hosts Constitution Day symposium on judicial independence

 

The Judiciary of Seychelles held a special symposium on Tuesday, June 17, to commemorate Constitution Day and reflect on one of the fundamental pillars of a democratic society — judicial independence.

The event, attended by judges, magistrates, court staff and legal professionals, took place ahead of Constitution Day, which is celebrated nationally on June 18.

In his opening address, Chief Justice Rony Govinden described the gathering as an important moment of reflection for the Judiciary.
