Perseverance secondary wins tourism challenge competition

A one-day tourism challenge competition was held yesterday as part of a broader initiative to encourage interest in tourism as a career path among young people and the wider local population.
The session at the International Conference Centre was hosted by the Industry Human Resource Development Unit (IHRD) of the Tourism department. It was aimed at providing real work context and foster discussion between students and professionals, with participation ranging from secondary and post-pecondary schools, industry professionals and educators, and tourism business.
The competition focused on the theme; ‘Attracting Young Talent to Tourism Careers. How can the industry be made more appealing as a career choice, and what are effective ways to change misconceptions about tourism jobs?’
