Cable & Wireless hosts congratulatory luncheon for Team Seychelles

Cable & Wireless Seychelles, in collaboration with the Youth and Sports department, and the Seychelles Football Federation, hosted a special luncheon in honour of Team Seychelles, also known as the Paradise Boys, following their participation in the Fédération Internationale de Football Association Beach Soccer World Cup 2025 held at the Paradise Arena, Roche Caïman, between May 1-11, 2025.

The event brought together players, coaching staff, government representatives, and key partners to celebrate the team’s achievements and national pride.

During the event, Cable & Wireless symbolically re-presented cheques worth R40,000, R25,733 – which were matched to become a final sum of R91,466, originally handed over during SPTC’s Mobile Roadshow and Bazar Royale on Saturday May 31.

The total included a goal bonus pledge from the company as well as a matched amount raised through its customer loyalty platform.

Speaking at the event, Naadir Hassan, chief executive of Cable & Wireless, noted that Team Seychelles reminded us of the power of sport to inspire, unite and uplift a nation.

“This gesture represents more than just support, but also reflects our belief in what they stand for," he added.

The luncheon also featured a themed entertainment segment, showcasing a patriotic theme song called ‘Sesel Pe Sofe’ performed by Billy and Erica Rangasamy, adding to the celebratory atmosphere.

Cable & Wireless remains committed to supporting youth empowerment and national development, both through technology and through initiatives that bring the country together.
