Jahdel Gabriel collects two more wins
Jahdel Gabriel’s dominance in local cycling is becoming more apparent and he is doing so in a way that makes him appear to be a strong favourite for future races organised by L’Union Cycliste des Seychelles.
Despite facing strong competition, particularly from Deveon Orredy and Ahmad Arissol, Gabriel of Vélo Club de l’Ouest continues to secure victories and last weekend he registered two to make it seven in a row and 11 in 18 individual races this year. He also won three team time trials with his Vélo Club de l’Ouest team
On Saturday, Gabriel, who is preparing for his debut in the l’Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Road World Championships from September 21 to 28, 2025 in Kigali, Rwanda, won the 65km road race in a time of 2 hours 08 minutes 09 seconds (2h08:09) – 24 seconds faster than runner-up and senior rider Arissol of Vélo Club de l’Ouest Academy who clocked 2h08:33.
