Seychelles succumb to Madagascar in opening group B match

The Seychelles selection debuted their campaign at the 13th Commission de la Jeunesse et des Sports de l’Océan Indien Games on the wrong foot, losing their first match in group B on a 1-2 score to Madagascar yesterday at Stad Linite.

For the tournament, Seychelles have been drawn in group B alongside Madagascar and Mayotte, while group A features the Comoros, Reunion, and Mauritius.

Fresh from a training camp in France in preparation for the Games, the boys of coach Michel Renaud fell behind as early as the fourth minute when Modeste Manoha opened the scoring for Madagascar, before William Rambeloson doubled their lead in the 26th minute of play, concluding the first half with a comfortable 2-0 score for Madagascar.
