Handi sports sprinter Verney Joubert keeps another gold medal home
- One silver and five bronze medals on day two
Following the exploit of handi sport sprinters Auria Barbe and Liam Denis on Tuesday, their teammate Verney Joubert yesterday once again stole the limelight, clinching another gold medal in the track and field events of the 13th Commission de la Jeunesse et des Sports de l’Océan Indien (CJSOI) Games at Stad Linite.
Joubert, who competed in the 100m T37 Physiques, finished first in 13.41 seconds, pushing Mauritian Kelan Thome, who clocked 14.08 seconds, into second place for the silver medal, while Ethan Wurges settled for the bronze medal after finishing third in 15.11 seconds.
