CSA Trading’s Seychelles Karting national championship roars back into action
After a short break during the closure of the Roche Caïman karting track for the 13th Commission de la Jeunesse et des Sports de l’Océan Indien Games, the Seychelles Karting National Championship proudly sponsored by CSA Trading Seychelles – returns this coming weekend with a high-octane double bill.
The action kicks off on Saturday August 16 with the Honda Cadets round six, followed by the Academy Bambino training session for the youngest aspiring racers. Then, on Sunday August 17, the spotlight turns to K-Legends round three and a special Open Arrive & Drive Championship, where a group of non-members racing enthusiasts race in a competitive format rather than a casual free session around the track as per the normal Come Karting.
Organisers say the second half of the 2025 season promises to be a thrilling finale. Adjustments to the race format and participant combinations will allow the Seychelles Karting Association (SKA), the nation’s official ASN and the Fédération Internationale d’Automobile (FIA) member – to explore adding new events into the free dates on the calendar.
One of the most exciting developments is in the KF2 class. Changes in participation will see the powerful 125cc 2-stroke category come alive with at least seven drivers at each event. Among them are three youngsters aged between 12 to 15 years old, training for their historic debut in Seychelles’ first-ever FIA international motorsport event on the African continent. Adam Ally, Joshua Cosgrow and Keanu Teeroomooljee are young talents who aim to gain invaluable experience in handling high-performance machinery as they set their sights on representing the nation. The boys amazed drivers and spectators alike at the Mid-Season Kart GP in July.
The ASN remains committed to nurturing future champions, focusing resources on opening pathways for young drivers to compete internationally and potentially pursue professional motorsport careers. The ASN continues to call on local companies to answer its call in investing in these youngsters, treating the sport as any other sport promoting youth up its rank.
Additionally, the SKA has implemented revised minimum weight regulations across all classes effective from August 9, 2025. Minimum weights are used at international standards to ensure fairness and competitiveness across all drivers.
Also, the ASN will see off club member Leo Padayachy who will travel to Europe in early September for the prestigious FIA Immersion Programme. Leo will spend 10 days at FIA headquarters before concluding his visit with an unforgettable experience at the Rally of Mont Blanc in the French Alps.
With big changes, bigger ambitions, and a packed second half of the season, Seychelles karting is set to deliver an unforgettable finish to 2025.
