Lowering your risk of breast cancer

 

Breast cancer affects over two million women and also kills thousands of women globally every year. Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an international health campaign that is held annually in October. The main aim of the month is to raise awareness about all forms of breast cancer; educate people about known risk factors for breast cancer so they can reduce their risk; highlight the importance of early detection by encouraging regular breast cancer screening amongst women from the age of 40 or earlier, depending on personal risks; emphasise the need for timely and appropriate intervention and support for ongoing breast cancer research.
