Breast cancer remains leading cancer among women in Seychelles

Breast cancer continues to be the most common cancer among women in Seychelles, according to the latest figures released by the National Bureau of Statistics, in collaboration with the Seychelles national cancer registry.  

The new data, published to mark breast cancer awareness month in October, shows that 46 women were diagnosed with breast cancer in 2024, all of whom were aged 30 years and above. The report also recorded 18 breast cancer-related deaths during the same period, reaffirming the disease’s impact on women’s health nationwide.
