The 58th Plenary Assembly of the SADC Parliamentary Forum (SADC PF) ended in eThekwini on Thursday with calls for accelerated parliamentary action on climate change, gender equality, youth empowerment, democratic consolidation, and deeper regional integration.
The week-long assembly, held under the theme ‘The Impact of Climate Change on Women and Youth in the SADC Region and the Role of Parliaments in Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation’, brought together parliamentarians from 14 of the Forum’s 15 member Parliaments, alongside representatives of partner organisations, academia, civil society, and South African legislators.
