Catherine Rose records another successful ascent on Mount Kenya
Seychelles has once again etched its name into global mountaineering history with a successful ascent of Point John (4,883 metres), the fourth-highest peak on Mount Kenya. This was achieved by Catherine Rose on January 21, 2026.
Point John is renowned for its technical difficulty, featuring demanding rock sections making the climb a significant achievement on the international mountaineering stage. The expedition therefore highlighted the growing presence and capability of Seychellois climbers in high-altitude and technical mountain environments.
