‘The African Slave Trade – the Transgenerational Pain’

The African slave trade is considered among one of the most horrendous scourges inflicted on a people in recorded history. It was a period of extreme exploitation through savagery, brutality for the profit of Europe and their colonies.

The practice, which was referred to by the old folks in Seychelles as Letan Margoz (theBitter Times),saw the consistent and prolonged kidnapping of Africans from Africa leading to forced involuntary displacement under extreme duress. The abducted were totally dispossessed and brought to foreign lands, where they had to practically develop other cultures in order to survive.
