Culture talk highlights slavery’s impact on Seychellois identity

As part of the 2026 Abolition of Slavery Day commemorations, the National Museum hosted a Culture Talks session yesterday titled Echoes of Freedom: Slavery’s Legacy in Seychellois Identity.
Delivered by historian and academic Dr Odile De Commarmond, the session formed part of national efforts to reflect on the enduring impact of slavery on Seychelles’ cultural, social, and historical landscape.
