Lions Club of Seychelles marks International Childhood Cancer Day with early awareness message
Every year on February 15, the world observes International Childhood Cancer Day to raise awareness about cancers affecting children and adolescents and to promote early detection and timely treatment. The Lions Club of Seychelles joins this global call by encouraging greater public awareness and understanding of childhood cancer within our community.
Childhood cancer is rare, but it remains one of the most serious diseases affecting children worldwide. Medical evidence shows that with early diagnosis and proper treatment, the majority of childhood cancers can be cured. In many developed countries, survival now exceeds 80 percent, demonstrating that early recognition and access to care make a life-saving difference.
This article aims to support general public awareness and encourages families to consult qualified health professionals for any medical concerns.
