Assembly backs government’s plans to strengthen agricultural sector
The National Assembly on Monday approved the 2026 budget for the Ministry of Fisheries, Agriculture and the Blue Economy, amounting to R107.56 million, following a day of debate and questions from members.
The approved budget includes R51.14 million for the Department of Agriculture, which is R65,596 less than the revised 2025 allocation. This also comprises R15.71 million which has been set aside for the Seychelles Institute of Agriculture and Horticulture (SIAH).
