Air Seychelles cancels flights following airspace closures in the Middle East
Seychelles national carrier, Air Seychelles, has cancelled several flights due to ongoing attacks in the Middle East region, which had forced the countries to close their airspace.
In a statement on its social media platform on Sunday March 1, 2026, the local airline stated that due to continued airport closures in the Middle East region, it had to cancel several of its services namely:
• HM18 Seychelles – Abu Dhabi Sunday, March 1
• HM19 Abu Dhabi – Seychelles Monday, March 2
• HM22 and HM21 Seychelles - Tel Aviv - Seychelles on Tuesday, March 3
“Passengers with onward connections to Europe are advised that 60 seats remain available on tomorrow’s (Monday) Seychelles–Mauritius service, departing at 13:25 and arriving at 16:00 on Monday, March 2. Those requiring urgent onward travel may wish to consider this option for direct connections,” read the advisory.
Air Seychelles said it continues to liaise closely with the relevant authorities and will provide further updates on the resumption of services as more information becomes available. “The safety and security of our passengers and crew remain our highest priority,” stated the airline.
Air Seychelles had to cancel its flight HM018 scheduled to depart on Saturday, February 28, due to airspace closures announced in the region.
