Seychelles Police QRT completes intensive counter-terror training with French GIGN

Friday, March 20, marked the conclusion of a two-week intensive training programme between the National Gendarmerie Intervention Group (GIGN) detachment of Réunion Island and the Seychelles Police Quick Reaction Team.

The programme focused on assessing the Seychelles Police Quick Reaction Team’s (QRT) capabilities and equipping them with advanced tools for operational development. This collaboration has now been held for five consecutive years.

The training culminated in a full-scale simulation of a plane hostage crisis at Seychelles International Airport, organised in partnership with the Seychelles Airports Authority (SAA), the Seychelles Police Force, and the French Gendarmerie.
