Breaking barriers: Seychelles unites to tackle rising youth unemployment

As part of activities marking World Labour Day on May 1, the Ministry of Employment and Human Resource Planning hosted a panel discussion yesterday morning on youth unemployment.

The event brought together policymakers, representatives from institutions, partner ministries, and members of the National Assembly.

The forum, held at the Seychelles Institute for Teacher Education (SITE) under the theme ‘Breaking Barriers, Tackling Youth Unemployment Together’, featured a diverse panel: Marie-Chantal Nicole, director general for TVET representing the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development; Nerrick Camille, assistant human resource manager at Six Senses Zil Pasyon; Vanessa Albest-Fabien, a Shannon graduate and hotel manager at Canopy by Hilton Seychelles; Aurelie Bradburn, a young graduate in Visual Communication Design from SEGi University; and Jefferson Isaac, an A-Level student and member of the National Youth Assembly.
