As Seychelles observes Internal Audit Month this May along with the rest of the world, heightened attention falls on a profession that operates largely behind the scenes yet plays a vital role in safeguarding organisational integrity, public funds, and financial stability.
Seychelles NATION spoke to chief internal auditor Anael Joubert of the internal and technical audit section at the Public Utilities Corporation to gain deeper insights into the function, its application in the local context, and the challenges and opportunities it presents in a small island jurisdiction.
