What was meant to be a simple day of photos and celebration turned into a life-changing moment for Jason Parker Winslow, a young advocate whose courage and determination continue to inspire a nation.
Jason, who lives with Duchenne muscular dystrophy – a progressive and incurable condition – was at the Office of the First Lady on Tuesday to mark the completion of a new accessibility project. As a passionate member of Ramp Up, Rise Up Association, Jason had played an important role in advocating for inclusive infrastructure.
Through collaboration with the Office of the First Lady, the project saw the construction of a new access ramp and a fully equipped disabled toilet, ensuring that elderly and disabled individuals can visit the office without barriers.
