Community spirit shines in Fond Azore tribute

More than a dozen emergency responders and sponsors who helped combat the Fond Azore fire on Praslin earlier in May, were honoured on Saturday by the Ministry of Local Government and Inner Islands during a certificate presentation ceremony attended by President Patrick Herminie, as part of his ongoing official Inner Islands tour.

The ceremony, held during a luncheon sponsored by Oasis Hotel, recognised at least 16 members of the Praslin Emergency Brigade Response Team. The recognition was for their contribution, dedication and support during the operation to contain the blaze, which threatened surrounding areas and required a coordinated emergency response.
